About Me

I love to laugh. A lot. And rather loudly. I'm also a fan of laughing so hard, no sound comes out. Or laughing so hard, tears come out. But laughing in general. And often.

I love people. A lot. All kinds. Loud, quiet, boisterous, kooky, interesting, tall, short, average, open-minded, funny, witty, adventurous, kind, considerate, outgoing, introverted, sparkly people. Bring 'em on. Let's become friends who have intriguing conversations which will not soon be forgotten.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Because I love meeting locals when I travel, and I love to extend the same gift to those who travel through where I live.

I am not interested in traveling like a tourist, but in getting to know a location through the people who live there. To me, that's what makes a place unique: the people.

Rather than staying in sterile hotel rooms, I'd rather browse a stranger's personal library, stay up late talking and laughing with new faces, and then share a semi-awkward bathroom dance in the morning before to start a day off right! 😂

That's why I'm on Couchsurfing.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One outstanding moment was when I flew in a beaver plane around Mt. McKinley/Denali and landed at the Denali base camp straight onto a glacier. One of the most amazing plane rides of my life.

I have also wandered over lava fields in Vestmannaeyjabær, Iceland, danced my ass off at a Burundian/Rwandese wedding in Kigali, hung my feet over the 1,800 ft. edge of Preikestolen in Norway, run through freezing sheets of rain around priory ruins in England, done handstands on sandstone arches in Moab, Utah, eaten my weight in pain au chocolat in Paris, and swooned to the beautiful melodies of late night New Orleans jazz halls, just to name a few.

Life's too short for just ONE amazing thing.

Teach, Learn, Share

TEACH: I've taught gymnastics for a number of years, so if you're looking to perfect your cartwheel or handstand, then I'm your gal! I can also bake some awesome Norwegian skolerboller. nom nom nom.

LEARN: What excites you? What are passions you want to pass along? I want to learn about those things!

SHARE: Conversation. I am notorious for asking random and interesting questions.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm very respectful of personal and physical space. I have no desire to intrude, but I love being welcomed into homes and hearts. I am a pretty good cook, so I'm happy to fill your place with the aromas and flavors of delicious eats. I also laugh... a lot. So there will be good eats and happy hearts.
