About Me
CURRENT MISSION
to enjoy every moment to the best of my abilities.
ABOUT ME
My first name is Rebeccah, but my friends call me Becca or Becs. I was born and raised in a small little town in Southern Maine where the cows out number the people. I have always wanted to travel. Every since I was very young, each time I would see a plane or jet in the sky I would imagine I was on it and dream of all the different places that it make be going. My favorite color is yellow. I love spicy food, anything cajun, italian, greek or thai.. I'm DOWN! well that also goes for all food :) ..I'm currently a student at the University of Maine majoring in International Affairs with a focus in French. I don't plan on spending my whole life in Maine, though it is a nice place to visit/ raise of family (for those who are searching :p).. I plan on heading out west, preferably San Diego , because I fell in in love it with a few years back. I like to laugh a lot. I'm always up for trying new things, meeting new people, and exploring new places. I am easy to get along with, I have no problems with going with the flow, but at the same time, I do really value being an independent person. One of my many philosophies that has seem to have stuck is "try every thing at least once...."
PHILOSOPHY
"All men dream: but not equally. Those who dream by night in the dusty recesses of their minds wake up in the day to find it was vanity, but the dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they may act their dreams with open eyes, to make it possible."
— T.E. Lawrence
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I want to continue meeting with the couchsurfers in Angers, and if anyone visiting the city would like to meet for coffee or drinks ,I would really love to meet up. I would also love to meet different couch surfers from other countries during my travels, because I know it's a great way to really experience the culture and the cities I plan on visiting.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I haven't been able to actually really try this. But I have friends who have raved about it, so I think it's about time for me to give this this a try. :)
Interests
As you may have already guessed, I love traveling. Even when I'm back at home in my little home town in Maine, I find myself always going for walks or jumping in my car and driving down roads I've never used before, for hours and hours upon end. In my opinion, if you have a stable car, good friends and good music, and maybe some snacks, thats all you really need for an ideal adventure. I love running , its the best way for me to get centered and relieve stress. After a long day, I hit the pavement. I'm a bit of a film buff. Friends always tease whenever they swing by my place, "WHAT ARE YOU WATCHING TODAY BECS?", because I always have some sort of movie on in the background. I love the ocean. I know everyone says that, but I really do. There's no other place I'd rather be than sitting on the beach with my toes buried in the sand, just watching the waves and feeling it's mist on my face. I'm always my happiest by the ocean. It's a goal of mine to live by the ocean one day; which one you may ask? Atlantic, Pacific, Indian who knows, only time will tell :)

Music, Movies, and Books
Rudyard Kippling's "the Jungle Book", is one of my classic books. I also love anything by Kurt Vonnegut. As far as Music goes, I love a little bit of everything minus death metal, because it sort of freaks me out . But classic rock, oldies, folk, pop, rap, reggae, classical, jazz, country, opera, alternative etc.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Well this is a difficult box to fill.. I've seen and done lots of wonderful things in my life.. The most recent would probably be this past year I've spent studying in Angers. It has always been a dream of mine to live in France for a year or more. I have a lot of french heritage in my family and I have just always been fascinated with it's history, culture, language and it's people. To have actually managed to do this for myself as a sophmore (which isn't common at my home university), has been a hell of an experience. I've been to many beautiful cities in and outside of France and met some unbelievably wonderful people from all over the world. This year has really challanged me as a person, and going back home knowing that I survived and thrived in a foreign country where I at first knew no one, well to me that is pretty amazing.
