About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Do what you can, with what you have, where you are

"To laugh often and much; To win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; To earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; To appreciate beauty, to find the best in others; To leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition; To know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded." Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803 - 1882), American Essayist & Poet

ABOUT ME

I love travelling to see new places and meet new people, learn new languages and experience different cultures. I like to make the most of every day.

When I'm at home, I love my life in the Isle of Man...I work as a physio at the local hospital. In my spare time I enjoy hiking, kayaking, climbing, and spending time with family and friends, who are the most precious things to me!

PHILOSOPHY

We only get one life...be happy, love it and make memories that are so beautiful, they are worth remembering.

Be the reason someone laughs every day.

Carpe Diem!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I was quite new to CS before spending 9 months in South America a couple of years ago. I was so lucky there to meet and stay with some amazing people during my journey, and now would like to pass on the positive energy to other couchsurfers on this side of the world.
I like to spend some time with hosts that I stay with if they have some time to share a few stories...I have met up with a few couchsurfers who have visited the Isle of Man and look forward to getting chance to meet and host more.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've slept on many friends couches, from lots of different countries...but I only started officially couch surfing when I first went to South America.
I have had 100% positive experiences staying with my amazing hosts :) I've shared many fun times and got to know their home cities, towns and villages through their eyes.

Interests

Music!, travelling, hiking, yoga, kayaking, painting, sustainable living and building, different cultures, trying to stand up on a surf board, climbing, cooking and learning new recipes in the countries I visit, dancing, meeting new people, art, trying to learn spanish and Manx!

Music, Movies, and Books

I like most different types of music from rock to classical to singer-songwriter to traditional. I like creating music...when I was in Morocco, our trekking guide and the guides of another 2 groups brought out bottles, cans, plates and we all made a rhythm while they were singing some local songs. I love going to live music gigs, big or small

Books: Celestine Prophecy, Learn to See, The Little Prince

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

spending 16 months living in Nepal was the best time of my life so far, I learnt so much from all my friends there, who became my family away from home.

I have been lucky to see many places in the world, but even luckier to still be in contact with the great friends I met while on my adventrues.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can tell people all about the best places to see on the island where I live. It's good to visit the huge variety of events that happen here throughout the year, from the Tin bath races to local food and craft fairs, the TT motorbike races, and, of course, so many different music events!
I love hearing peoples travel stories, and I can share some of my previous travelling adventures if you would like to hear.
