Overview
About Me
Positive~ encouraging~ optimistic~open minded~ eager to learn and enthusiastic to teach which means couch surfing is great way to live and travel for me. I have couch-surfed in Australia, India and Europe and can say with confidence that it has been such an amazing and eye-opening experience and one that I wish to continue! To be welcomed into the home of a stranger and in only a couple of days be life long friends has been refreshing, inspiring and exciting. I love helping the host out with whatever I can whether that be gardening, building, sorting, cooking or tidying. I love hearing their stories and sharing mine too, exchanging different ways of living and connecting one another with new ideas. I worked really hard in my degree but i feel now it is time for a different kind of learning and growing- one that is world wide, ongoing and isn't measured by a test at the end- perhaps a test all the way through? I am excited by my new adventure and love that couch surfing is a tool in making the adventure come alive raaaa :D ps I'm from
England not Brisbane Australia I don't know how to change it!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To learn, share and meet with people from around the world. To step out of the box and challenge my comfort zone, to expand skills and knowledge, socially and otherwise.
Interests
I love creating things- whether this be food, things in the garden, photo albums, clothing, wood-work, social spaces, party organising- anything practical really! And this really works for me if I am surrounded by people who feel the same :) I LOVE music, the sense of freedom, release, joy, smiles, goosebumps and shivers music can give really is special to me. I have never played a musical instrument (apart from the clarinet) but have certainly always been attracted to music and made sure it has been a part of my life through festivals and dance. I have done a range of dance styles from ballet to capoeira to freestyle disco to hip hop to rock and roll but my main focus was contemporary dance. I was part of a company for 4 years that toured around the south of UK, performing, learning and creating. We were a release based company working with a lot of breath, fluidity and floor techniques. I have sadly left this company to come travelling but am still active with things like yoga, acro-yoga and hoop dance. Aside from music and dance I love being in nature. I find it fascinating, i could learn all day about growing, gardening and farming. I've had some really special moments in nature that cant be beaten with anything else- it's so simple, beautiful, free, inspiring, energizing and healing. I hope to always find this in my travels and later in life too :)
