ABOUT ME
1. There are two of us!
2. This is Becky speaking (her English is better)
I've been living in Almería, Spain since October where I have been teaching English in a nearby village called Canjáyar. Juan is a postman (who writes books!) and we met in October through my roommate. Since then we have been very close friends and one day we decided that we should do a road trip across the United States. I'm from Tulsa, OK, and after seeing a bit of the world I've realized how much of my own country I still need to see. I'm even more excited to experience it with Juan, who has never been to the United States. Let the culture shock begin!
We are both very open minded, flexible, respectful, eager to try new things, ready to have new experiences and some fun!
PHILOSOPHY
Both of us: be open-minded and enjoy life while you can.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Becky: I have done couch surfing once and it was like I was at a friend's house. It was a great experience and I'm ready for more!
Juan: I'm excited to not only see the USA but meet a few people there too!
Interests
For me (Becky) life here in Almería is pretty relaxed, and most of my time is spent thinking about how best to express myself! In between teaching English in a village, my private classes, visiting the beach, and eating tapas, I am usually snapping photos of random things or reading a book. Hopefully I am traveling!
One of my favorite things to do while traveling in cities is to just put the map away and get a little bit lost (but while using common sense!). I love to see what finds me and absorb what I can about a location.
As for Juan, when not working, he can usually be found at the gym playing volleyball or football (aka soccer). At home, if he's not playing video games then he's probably reading books or watching documentaries about science and technology. He also writes short stories and has a book of poetry published!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Becky:
1. Seeing la Alhambra in Granada (where I'll be living next year!)
2. The festival of Magdalena in Castellón de la Plana. My favorite thing about this festival is that it makes absolutely no sense, at least from my perspective, and therefore it makes all the sense in the world. Should there be a reason for shooting fireworks off street lights, walking seven kilometers to ring a bell on a church, or dressing up in traditional clothes and riding around in what could only be called a Spanish villa on wheels? No, quit asking questions and enjoy. Art for the sake of art, fun for the sake of fun.
Juan: Skydiving and publishing a book!
