About Me

I basically wrote this whole profile 4 years ago

CURRENT MISSION

To make friends with a difference

ABOUT ME

Well what can I say? To some I'm described as that crazy ginger friend who tends to speak the most random things and to others, most likely my closest friends, I'm the same person that they met. I've never been succombed to any kind of radical overpowering force and craze. Just sometimes a bit loopy and definitely random.

PHILOSOPHY

Focus on what you have rather than what you don't. Simply this!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

As you may have already seen or read due to my unfunny humour, I'm British. Born and Bred.

I'm currently a university student undertaking Erasmus in Porto. I've fallen in love with this city (not with the rain but I will allow that to slide) because of the general atmosphere and the fact that it's super COOOOL.

I lived in Paris before for 5 months, which was amazing i'd have to say. I don't want my overseas journey to end just yet so I've decided to embark on a (didn't use 'an' because it sounds far too dodgy here) European adventure.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I'm yet to have one. Someone entice me!

Interests

I'm not going to lie here. It takes me a lot to become excited about something but when I am, I'm absolutely hooked. I love a mixture of me time and of course with the homies (friends). I think you can learn so much about your friends, the more time you spend with them the more they delight you (could go the other way too).

What would i say engages me? Experiencing a new culture to then feel like you are a part of it. Weird thing to say, I know. I'm able to talk to people from different countries, who live practically a million miles away, in the same way that I talk to some of my closest friends. I'm able to use my lame British jokes and experience laughter (rarity because i'm just not that funny ;)).

Apart from the whole 'meeting new people' cliché, I really do love discovering parts of a country that are rarely ever shown (I don't mean the crack dens or brothels). The underrated parts, the parts that you stumble upon by accident, the parts that depict the real beauty of the nation. I guess sometimes we get so wrapped up in the touristic parts of a place, that we find ourselves standing on the other side of a window looking in.

The I love part:
History, shitty TV programmes that keep you hooked for hours, food, deep and meaningful conversations, grammar :P, accents, games (hugely competitive), taking photos with other people's cameras, unfortunately people :p, sleep, when it rains and i'm inside etc

Music, Movies, and Books

Not proud of it but cheesy music always happens to circulate through my ears and find a way of overplaying in my head. Apart from that I love motown and then some. Not familiar with names of artists or songs, so half the time I ended saying no i don't know this song until someone points out that I'm singing it.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

This is a hard one.
- Being in the Sahara riding my favourite animal, the camel, for the first time
- Views seems to do the trick because they show off the real beauty of the country (cheesy but true)
- Seeing a group of foreigner all drinking the 5 o clock tea. I'm British and I hate the stuff.

Countries I’ve Visited

Angola, Australia, Austria, Brazil, Canada, Chile, China, France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Kenya, Morocco, Netherlands, Portugal, Singapore, South Africa, Spain, United States

Countries I’ve Lived In

Brazil, Chile, France, Portugal, United Kingdom
