About Me

I'm an environmentalist and currently work in corporate social responsibility in southern California. That takes me outside and motivates the work I do. My environmental work has taken me to some really awesome places in this world over the past couple of years and I've met some really amazing people from all corners of this planet.

My life philosophy is that what you give to this world will come back to you eventually -- believe in putting out good.

I'm currently studying government and history and would love to talk your ear off about mountaineering history and other semi-useless shenanigans.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

First time I backpacked alone was in Costa Rica and I had the best time traveling with locals and getting to know the land beyond what's advertised for tourists.

Learned about couchsurfing a few years back and have had a great time getting to know so many amazing travelers so far. Definitely some of my best experiences traveling have been on adventures with folks who were grateful enough to host me and show me around their cities.

I am so grateful to have been hosted by such amazing people. Folks on this site have been so generous and welcoming and I am so excited to be able to give back to the community.

Music, Movies, and Books

Just about every climbing & mountaineering documentary I can get my hands on. Similar taste for books -- my favorite book is by Reinhold Messner, describing his solo ascent of Everest.

Music taste ranges from indie folk to Frank Sinatra! My favorite band is the Head and the Heart and I can listen to Christmas music anytime of the year.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Adopted a cat from a shelter! His name is Hobbes and he is a very handsome tuxedo cat. The only thing is he is about 17 pounds.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love learning new languages and new recipes! Mostly I love listening to new stories.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Stories, slight ability to bake and cook, laughs

I can teach and share experiences climbing, hiking, camping, and with environmentalism. I can also cook some pretty neat Korean dishes.

Countries I’ve Visited

Antarctica, Argentina, Canada, Costa Rica, Denmark, Fiji, Germany, India, Italy, Mexico, Morocco, New Zealand, Norway, South Korea, Spain, Thailand, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, United States, Vatican City State

Countries I’ve Lived In

United States
