Overview
About Me
I'm travelling all over Japan for one year, with the aim of gaining a better understanding of Japanese culture and learning Japanese language. I love meeting new people and making friends throughout my journey, and hope to make some great memories.
(Now in New Zealand for 3 months!)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I love exchanging stories and experiences with people from all over the world- this makes life all the more interesting and fun! We will all make far more memories from time spent talking and learning together than sitting alone in silence, which is why I want to use my time travelling to get to know lots of different people with different values.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music- not too fussy, but my favourites would be The Who, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd etc.
Films- anything that isn't too "Hollywood", like Transformers or Fast and Furious... Sorry! Specifically, I love horrors and thrillers- anything with a good plot twist.
I really like reading as a way of de-stressing after a long day. I read a lot of fiction books, but read non-fiction occasionally too.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I underwent an intensive 4-week CELTA course to learn how to teach English to foreign students. It required me to work to extremely tight deadlines and, more often than not, working until after midnight just to keep up with the workload!
Also, I think that travelling around Japan for a whole year is pretty amazing!
Teach, Learn, Share
I love love love to cook and try new recipes, usually whilst having a beer or two. If you like we can cook together and teach each other our national cuisines.
Besides Couchsurfing I'm also using Workaway as I travel. So far I've helped renovate a traditional kominka, helped to look after two adorable kids whilst teaching them and house-guests to speak English, picked a crazy amount of tomatoes, worked on a permaculture farm and a nature resort. It's really been amazing so far. I want to continue to learn all that I can, so please share this with me!
What I Can Share with Hosts
I'm clean and respectful and appreciate how trusting a host must be to allow strangers into their home to share their space. I'll make sure to follow any rules you might have, as I want to ensure that we all feel comfortable and safe.
I love to cook and so we can do this together if you would like! I can help with cleaning, and I can teach English to adults or children.
Really, I just want to share some good memories with like-minded people and enjoy life to the fullest!
