Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
See new places, visit intentional communities, bicycle, learn to farm, have authentic experiences, connect with fellow humans.
Currently
traveling around Iceland by bicycle for a month. My first bike tour!
ABOUT ME
I am free-spirited and easy-going. I love making homemade yogurt, biking, hanging out with barnyard animals, hiking, skiing, dumpster diving, looking at art, reading, never-ending conversations, good beer, trying to shift the status quo, and doing things for the first time.
PHILOSOPHY
"Meaning and morality of one’s life come from within oneself. Healthy, strong individuals seek self expansion by experimenting and by living dangerously. Life consists of an infinite number of possibilities and the healthy person explores as many of them as possible. Religions that teach pity, self-contempt, humility, self-restraint and guilt are incorrect. The good life is ever changing, challenging, devoid of regret, intense, creative and risky."
-- Friedrick Nietzsche
If we are lucky we have 80 years in our life to do everything we want to do. Life is short, and I like to make the most of every experience I get and appreciate the present.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I used CS when I traveled around Europe for a couple months. Absolutely loved it. Then I hosted some surfers while living in Burlington. Now I'm surfing again.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I only had positive experiences, and met some of the best kind of people. I think this is a wonderful platform to use.
Interests
My favorite things include biking, meditation, shelling peas, dancing, sheep, skiing, yoga, reading, climbing trees, existentialism, maple syrup, streetart, potlucks, and good conversation.
Music, Movies, and Books
Authors: Tom Robbins, Sylvia Plath, Neil Gaiman, Somerset Maugham, David Sedaris, Oscar Wilde, J. K. Rowling, Roald Dahl, Haruki Murakami, Khalil Gibran among many others.
Music: my favorites are Queen, Alt-J, and Blitzen Trapper. I like classic rock, indie, folk punk, EDM sometimes, slam poetry... I'm not too picky, most genres have a good time and place.
Movies: too many to list, some favorites that come to mind are V for Vendetta, Rocky Horror Picture Show, Pride & Prejudice, The Pick of Destiny, The Matrix, SLC Punk, Empire Records, anything made by Quentin Tarantino, and so many others.
TV shows: Parks & Recreation, Orange is the New Black, Girls, New Girl, Workaholics, The Office, South Park, The Twilight Zone, and Firefly
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I feel very grateful for all the wonderful experiences life has given me. I've road along the Great Wall of China on a donkey. I volunteered on a clothing-optional, off-the-grid, eco-campsite in Montenegro for a week. I stayed in a gift economy, open-house with community dinners every night, and a garden in the back. I've hitchhiked across Romania. I've jumped off cliffs and fallen in love. I've seen many beautiful sunrises and gone on many spontaneous adventures. My bestfriend taught me to ski a few years ago. I've baked some damn good cookies, and most importantly, I've made beautiful friends who I love and admire.
Teach, Learn, Share
I have a wide range of experiences in the twenty short years I've had on the planet. I love sharing my wild stories, and I have a decent perspective on things.
