About Me

Hello there and welcome!

I left Australia over two years ago and have been working, travelling and what I call ‘living deliberately’ ever since!

I love meeting new people, making connections and being involved in new experiences. Fortunately or unfortunately for you I also fit the Aussie stereotype....I am drawn to nature, outdoor activities and of course surfing!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I believe no amount of school based education is as valuable as travelling and connecting with other people and the opportunity to exchange stories, experiences and embedding yourself deeply in another culture and soaking in what the big wide world has to offer. I like to know what makes us all the same as well as what makes us different.

Music, Movies, and Books

Soooooooo difficult. I must say I'm more of a book nerd than a movie buff. I love to read and listen to podcasts (podcasts changed my life!) and am constantly hungry for knowledge.

I read anything that interest me at the time be it philosophy, history, a biography, science....

One of my favourite books is ‘Island’ by Aldous Huxley. I’m currently reading ‘Walden’ by Henry David Thoreau.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Only one!? I could write pages about the amazing humans that I have met, the kindness of strangers, the near misses, the random moments that stir my love for travel.

Well, my top moments.
Working and living in a backpackers for the last 1.5 years (sharing a room with 5 people for that long teaches you a lot about yourself and your tolerance for others!).

The many trips around Morocco and the beautiful people I have met there.

Boom festival Portugal 2016 & 2018. If you had to envision Utopia, Boom is it! That is the world that I want to live in.

Teach, Learn, Share

SHARE:
I love opportunities to cook for others. There is no better way to show your appreciation and love for people than by feeding them a delicious meal and sharing stories around the dinner table.

LEARN:
Teach me all you know! I love getting inside the minds of others, learning new cultures or attempting to correctly pronounce a new word in another language. I think I’m past the point of being able to embarrass myself haha.

TEACH:
I'm a physiotherapist and have a great love for pain sciences and human anatomy. I am yet to come across a human without some form of pain or past injury that they would like to quiz me on, so go right ahead. I will certainly help where I can!

What I Can Share with Hosts

Hopefully a laugh, some chilled out company, stimulating conversation and perhaps even a beer/wine/cup of tea....whatever your flavour.
