Overview
About Me
I'm relaxed and straight-forward and consider myself to be open-minded, except on the issues of racism or homophobia - I have no tolerance for either so please don't offer to host me, or request to be hosted by me, if these form part of your world view. On every other topic I find it interesting to speak to people who have views that differ from mine.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I really like the idea of community-based sharing: People offering and sharing to make life easier for others. I like that options exist that are not driven by economic gain or keeping score. I also find people interesting and enjoy hearing their stories and about their perspectives and experiences.
Interests
History, psychology, current affairs - basically people and the human race and what makes them tick. I also do Tai Chi regularly and try to go hiking as often as I can. I enjoy dancing (wherever, whenever) and just hanging out with friends. I like making things though I don't get around to it very often, and love reading, which I get to often.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: Ranges from PsyTrance to old school Alternative to classical. Suzanne Vega, Violent Femmes, Tool, Vivaldi, Coco Rosie, Postal Service, Royksopp,Flying Picketts, Placebo, Jane's Addiction, Funf, Beethoven etc
Movies: I enjoy films that are not too generic and stereotyped, though they don't have to be art-house dramas. Action, fantasy, sci-fi, animated, war films - anything goes. Some favourites are Snatch, Before the rain, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Priest, Shortbus, All the X-men films, The Babadook etc
Books: What makes me enjoy or not enjoy a book is not so much the genre as the specific book, so my shelves contain everything from historical dramas to sci-fi to fantasy to children's books to graphic novels. Some favourite authors are Margaret Atwood, Jasper Fforde, Ruth Ozeki, Ursula le Guin, Ian Banks, Cat Hellisen, Neil Gaiman, Colin Bateman, Jeanette Turner-Hospital and many, many more.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I make the world's best egg-mayo sandwich.
Teach, Learn, Share
We teach, learn and share by being, and I believe in being in such a way that teaching, learning and sharing is happening on all levels, all the time.
What I Can Share with Hosts
If you host me I can share my time & company. Anything more specific will be contingent on when and where I am at that point. I actually enjoy washing dishes.
