I love to travel, of course. Since retirement I have been doing so as much as possible (and my grown-up children approve of!). I have been in the San Francisco Bay Area for all of my adult life and am very knowledgeable about the tourist attractions, both the well-known and the hidden gems.

My career was in counseling at the community college level. I raised two children who are wonderful adults and with whom I am very close. I do travel a lot myself so will not be available for periods of time, but when I'm here I'll enjoy the company.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to be a resource, especially for older travelers who might otherwise be uncertain of doing something like couch-surfing. Women traveling alone or with a friend will be welcomed.

I like to meet people especially when traveling to get the real picture of daily life in a different culture. I have done many house trades over the years, and through that site have also hosted foreign guests and been hosted.

I was a very early user of AirBnB before almost all my friends knew about it. I see couch-surfing as another resource that connects people and promotes humanity and understanding, through the generosity of spirit.

I also love showing my own area to people who are active and enthusiastic about seeing San Francisco and the environs.

Interests

My passions are history and the visual and performing arts. So museums, concerts, foreign and independent films, walking tours of cities, etc. is where you will find me.

My physical activities are walking (as much as my knees allow), yoga, weight training, and I meditate most days.

I have a beautiful garden to relax in and enjoy.
