About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Helping people see the good in the world.
ABOUT ME
I'm just your usual sort of girl I guess, besides the girliness. I've lived overseas a few times - in Scotland for a couple of years, in southern Laos, and most recently in Fiji. I'm into music, books and films, love to experience new places and cultures, and always look forward to what I will learn from the new people I meet. I'm fairly easy-going and you could see me hanging out in a city for days, snorkeling and identifying tropical fish from a field guide, chilling out reading or watching movies, or going for a walk up a (not-too-high) mountain.
PHILOSOPHY
If you see someone without a smile, give them one of yours.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
By offering people a person to drink with in Canberra, my new home town, and by being offered places to stay as I travel!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've stayed with CSers in Singapore, Xi'an, Abu Dhabi, Liverpool, Den Haag, Wurzburg, Bamberg, Nuremberg, Budapest, Pecs, Vienna, Edinburgh, Gold Coast, Brisbane, Hervey Bay and Agnes Water! I've also 'hosted' my first ever CSer, showing a guy around ADL for a morning. CSing has made the whole experience of travelling far more enjoyable and .. real in a way. Can't wait for the next one!

Music, Movies, and Books
All music really! You could get me interested in most anything you introduce me to. Some of my all-time favourites are The Shins, Sufjan Stevens and Alt-J, but I'm also into some dance and heavier stuff. Some interesting movies - American Beauty, Mysterious Skin, The Castle, Lost in Translation, The Truman Show, Goodbye Lenin, Devil's Advocate, Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind, The Dark Knight trilogy, Indie Jones, Tell No One, anything Jake Gyllenhaal.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Slept on a roof under a mosquito net at a hippo sanctuary in the north of Ghana, West Africa. Walked 10km of the Great Wall in China from Jinshanling to Simatai - one of the best things I've ever done. Hiked up Mt Kinabalu and almost made it to the peak for sunrise. Slept in a tent in the Liwonde NP, Malawi to the sound of hippos grunting and laughing in the nearby water. Snorkeled for hours off the coast of Beqa island in Fiji, spotting turtles and white and black tipped reef sharks, and my first moray eel. And who could get past a night spent in a temple on Mount Koya, Japan?
