Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I hosted briefly while still living in America, but I use CS quite a lot now that I am travelling. I really enjoy going to CS meetups, and have never had a bad experience with a host.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My favorite CS experience was my first: I flew across the country to attend a seminar on sexual health, stayed in a refurbished school bus, saw my first Reel Big Fish concert, camped out in the woods amongst hand-dug BMX ramps, and drank wonderfully terrible moonshine. It was a perfect weekend, and I'm still friends with that host.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I lived on Stromboli, Italy, for 6 months; Stromboli is an extremely active volcano. One night, some mates and I took a boat to see the lava pouring from the top of the crater, all the way down to the sea (about 900m). We jumped into the water, which had been so affected by the lava, the Mediterranean Ocean actually felt like an over-heated jacuzzi. The moon beamed down like a white spotlight and the lava glowed bright red and orange while we stared in wonder...
