ABOUT ME
Did some traveling after uni in SE Asia and Australia then went back to England to do a TEFL course. Since then I have been living in China. Whilst there, at least in the first couple of years, I got into learning Chinese and so am now reasonably, but far from completly, fluent. Have traveled to quite a lot of places in China but its such a big country there are still lots of places I havent been to. Just before leaving i went to Macau where i dabbled at the casino and then did the worlds tallest bungee which i highly recommend. I couldnt stop laughing for about 2 hours and the other guy i did it with went home and proposed to his girl. I like playing and watching football, enjoy a good night out and am looking forward to some time away from cold northern Chinese winters.
PHILOSOPHY
Live and let live, and treat others how you wanna be treated i guess are the big ones.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I've only just signed up after a number of very strong recommendations from friends and am gonna be on the road for a while yet. Maybe after summer, i will get to south america and would be able to host then but unforunately not before.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Had a bit of a false start to my couchsurfing experience whilst in south east asia but now i have truly started, it has all been positive. Have met and surfed with some great people and hope to host some more great people when i settle in colombia.
Interests
winning at poker is a hobby, i'm not such a fan of losing though, and I like playing and watching football. I support my hometown team which, for those of you that have heard of it, is Blackburn Rovers in England. We're a small club but consistently punch above our weight and, according to some survey someone told me about, we're the best club in the country to support. I'm thinking about giving up supporting England after the World Cup though. I enjoy going out for a few beers, during which time I tend to smoke more than i should and if there are any pool or table football tables knocking about, I get involved with them too. I enjoy learning languages and reckon that having learnt Chinese for 5 years, most languages are gonna be comparatively very easy to pick up. Spanish is in my sights. I enjoy reading a good book and will take in the occasional movie now and again. Backgammon and chess, or even chinese chess i partake in, and i have learnt the basics of Go but really have no idea what i am doing with it. My slightly less mainstream interests include hypnosis and NLP.

Music, Movies, and Books
Not a massive music fan but have been influence by many of my friends who are huge music fans.
I'll watch pretty much any movie that anyone recommends to me, i especially like a good documentary.
Living in China, the number of english language books that are available to you are somewhat limited, so its kinda the same story as movies - i'll pretty much read anything i can get my hands on.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
The biggest bungee jump in the world has gotta qualify.
Teach, Learn, Share
I guess Chinese and China would be my area for people that are interested and have never been there. I lived there for 5 years so know quite a bit. i never went and studied there. i think just living there is a kinda school in itself. I know the very very basics of hypnosis and have lightly hypnotised people before. I would love to meet someone with more knowledge in this area though.
