About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To disprove that having kids means you can't travel. We like hauling our two daughters all over the world.
ABOUT ME
I've moved a lot in my life. Nope, not in the military, but a change of scenery is always a wonderful thing. Nothing wrong with a brand new start.
I am a US tax accountant working in Canada. I enjoy having fun and seeing the beauty in the environment around me. I can't wait to continue traveling and experience more and more.
My wife and I are frugal people as we'd rather spend our money on travel than anything else. We really dislike the typical American consumer way of life and that's why we travel more than most of our friends.
We moved to Calgary in 2012 for the free health care. It was supposed to be a temporary thing but I don't know if we'll ever move back to the US. It wasn't cold enough in Calgary so we moved to Edmonton in 2017.
PHILOSOPHY
Find a wonderful person to enjoy life with and eat good food.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
We did surf some couches a while back but decided that traveling as a couple + baby (or two) is a little hard for some people so now we use it to meet interesting people from all over the world.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
We've surfed some couches in Taiwan. Loved it! We just hosted for the first time in January 2011. A guy whose couch we surfed in Taiwan visited us in the U.S. We've kept in contact with several people that we've hosted.
Interests
I LOVE traveling! I enjoy meeting normal people. Staying at hotels with other tourists doesn't interest me. I like experiencing daily life just like everyone around me.

Music, Movies, and Books
I prefer foreign films as I think most American movies are so predictable. Strange movies like "Big Fish" and "Kung Fu Hustle" are my favorites.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Filming of a Taiwanese TV show complete with realistic cops and guns happened right in front of me. Since guns are illegal in Taiwan, I was pretty scared until I figured out they were fake.
Teach, Learn, Share
Life is a great teacher. The problem is not many people learn the lessons and always wonder why they aren't progressing.
You make mistakes in traveling, especially at the beginning. Don't give up though, keep going and you'll make fewer and fewer big ones. It's so worth it.
Countries I’ve Visited
