About Me
My story is probably not as different from other adventure seeking wanderers but hey, here it goes.
Being born in Iran and growing up in Holland I've always been facinated by cultural differences and getting to know other cultures and stories from around the world. As soon as I was old enough to afford my own trip to.. well.. any place I could afford, I started leaving home to explore the world while studying. Somehow I could never get enough. So you can imagine what it felt like when I got a steady job (which I loved), a routine and responsibilities. I was having trouble settling for the life I had and took a leap.
So this is it. I quit my job, left my home and am off with a single ticket to wherever life takes me.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Even though I definetly don't mind traveling alone, one of my priorities while traveling is to meet, and spend time with, others. I've been to the hostels. I've been to the main tourist areas. I've lived the backpack culture and lifestyle. But I've set my mind on meeting locals to cease the opportunity of getting to know a language, culture and country first hand by someone who is living it. I hope to find that through Couchsurfing.
Interests
Anything food related really.. I love to visit local (wet) markets and supermarkets to see what feeds the people of the country that I'm in. Also.. Eating. I like that too. A lot.
Other than that I enjoy going out hiking, camping or anything that makes me feel closer to nature.

Music, Movies, and Books
I enjoy reading books about modern and/or political history. Stories that take place in current North Korea, the Khmer Rouge period in Cambodia, the Vietnam war, etc.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Hard to name one amazing thing I've done but here's a few.. Trekking through the Himalayas. Swimming deep into a pitch dark cave in Viet Nam. Roaming through the jungle in Borneo. Staying with nomads in the Sahara. Spending the night with a sleeping bag on a trampoline with a clear view of the Milky way. Celebrating the Nepali new year in ancient Bhaktapur.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Besides the fact that I live for smiles, laughter and mutual respect and kindness, there's a big BONUS to hosting me. My passion is to cook. Unfortunately carrying a stove and fridge along isn't an option. So I will gladly take every kitchen as an opportunity to cook!
