About Me

(taken from personal website because I don't want to spend too much time on this. I really don't like this sort of thing LOL):

BRIEF BIO
Beit Gorski is a registered unlicensed somatic psychotherapist with a decade of experience working with individuals, families, children, groups, and communities impacted by intimate partner violence, domestic violence, human trafficking, and systemic oppression. Xe has been working, personally and professionally, in trans* and genderqueer communities for more than 8 years, providing accessible transition support and gender diversity training for universities, clinics, hospitals, early childhood educators, and community organizations. Beit is the proud alumnum of Red Rocks Community College, the University of Colorado at Boulder, and Naropa University and holds professional memberships with the American Counseling Association and the United States Association for Body Psychotherapy. Among other accomplishments, xe is proud of xemself for being a founding member of the Urban Adult Hide & Seek Association (Boulder Green League).

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My supervisor told me that she doesn't want me to burn out and she's right- I'm headed there fast. But I am the sole breadwinner for a family of three on an income from a non-profit shelter. So I'm TOTALLY broke, all the time. Plus, I'm a community person- I can't imagine being able to relax by spending a whole weekend alone in a hotel room or something.
I love to travel, LOVE to adventure and meet new people but rarely get the chance. So, here I am, looking to find ways to make travel and adventure more affordable, enjoyable, and relaxing.

Interests

Social Justice, Jungian play, Urban Adult Hide & Seek, making art, and (compassionately) diving into deeper conversations that are uncomfortable.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

only one?!?
Crap.
Successfully escaped my family of origin (Neo-Calvinist Fundies with a side of racism) and made family of my own (wide variety of lovely people, some chosen, others born into it, very poly, very loving, very honest and open).

Teach, Learn, Share

Yup. Pretty much my daily life.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I have so many good /horrible stories! Also I am a good listener.
I'm handy with basic home improvement tasks and I always pitch in with the dishes (though trust me, you don't want me to cook). Oh, and I make AWESOME teas. Like, from scratch and individualized to each person.
