About Me
I'm Bek and what I love the most is making connections with others and hearing their stories. For the past year and a half I've been passionate about coffee because of the community it creates, so I've been traveling to learn from professionals in as many locations as I can.
I started my coffee journey in Lakeland, Florida with the help of a couple barista friends who had been working with coffee for years. From there, I landed my first specialty coffee job in Fairbanks, Alaska. Six months later, I ended up in Antigua Guatemala to volunteer with a coffee co-op. There in Antigua, I met a girl who runs a coffee caravan that is based out of LA. She gave me a job traveling with her this summer, which brings me to why I'm Couchsurfing:
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
While in Antigua, I met a girl who owns a coffee caravan that travels to music festivals like Coachella and Stagecoach. A super crazy and long story short, she offered me a job working for her this summer.
We will be stationed out of LA, more specifically Sherman Oaks, and I will need a couch to surf for a few half-weeks in April and May.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Put on an event where people were vulnerable with their stories in public in less than a month. It drew 300 people at a tiny Christian school. People talked about their sexual orientation, and we were blacklisted at the school. Now people feel more free to live honestly on campus.
Teach, Learn, Share
I would to hear stories and share my own. Learn and teach our different skills and abilities.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I don't have many funds to share, but I would love to share a story over a cup of coffee that I buy on me. I can also provide pizza for dinner or some other meal. There also MIGHT be a Coachella ticket involved, but that's not certain right now.
