Overview
About Me
I'm a globetrotter from Northwestern Spain. I live in North Wales, where I study for my PhD at Bangor University and work as a part-time Spanish-language tutor.
I am very sociable and talkative, honest, reliable and hard-working, as well as very tidy and clean.
At the moment I am in no situation to host anyone because I'm living in shared accommodation and the place is very small. However, I will change my availability as soon as I can rent a bigger place for myself.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I love travelling and the enriching experiences it brings: meeting new people with whom to discuss ideas and exchange opinions; visiting new places, admiring their art, architecture and landscape, as well as learning about history and culture.
Additionally, I'm in the final year of my PhD, I must travel to do research and my financial resources are very limited because, f I want to finish and submit my thesis in time, I can only have flexible, part-time jobs.

Music, Movies, and Books
Eclectic taste in music, films and books:
-Pop, rock, Brazilian music, salsa and merengue, classical, opera, film scores, etc.
(Not a fan of rumba, reaggeton, ska, metal)
-Comedy, romance, historical dramas, detective thrillers, action, animated, documentaries, etc.
(Not a fan of horror or "scary movie" type of films)
-Historical fiction, bildungsroman, detective-noir, multigenre fiction, etc.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Never giving up and powering through giving my best shot no matter how many unexpected challenges come my way.
Teach, Learn, Share
Teach: I can teach you Spanish and Galician at any level, as well as help you improve your English and your French (if you are a non-native speaker and learning).
Learn: I would extremely appreciate any help in practising and improving my foreign languages.
Share: as a university-trained translator and interpreter, I can guarantee that there is no such thing as "simultaneous/consecutive translation": translation involves working with written texts, while interpretation involves oral communication, so whenever you hear someone say (whether in TV/cinema or real life) "simultaneous/consecutive translation", what they really should be saying is "simultaneous/consecutive interpretation".
What I Can Share with Hosts
Good company, pleasant conversation about languages, travelling, Spain, food, cultures, history, etc; help around the house; cooking carrot, orange and ginger creamy soup, and many other (hopefully) interesting things.
