I’m 22 years old, and after graduating from uni in November 2018, I decided to spend some time abroad learning about some other parts of the world!
I spent 3 months working as a camp counsellor at a summer camp in upstate New York, before travelling around the US for a month. I've just recently arrived in Canada for my first time ever, and am loving it so far! 🌎

I'm pretty new to couchsurfing, having only discovered it during my travels recently, but have really enjoyed being able to meet some new people through it.
As far as my interests go, I absolutely love being outside and enjoy hiking, biking, swimming, kayaking and camping. I play the trumpet and love listening to and creating music as well. Cooking and baking are some of my greatest joys, I love experimenting with new vegan recipes and would really enjoy the opportunity to whip up something new with you!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I’m travelling around the United States and Canada and would love to meet some new people along the way. Some of my absolute favourite travel experiences have been simply meeting and spending time with locals and/or fellow travellers, and I’ve come to realise that this is what travelling is truly about. I would really love to meet some more likeminded people and discover all the best local things to do and see at the same time 😋

Interests

I really enjoy the outdoors and love hiking, camping, nature walks, cycling and swimming. I play the trumpet and have recently been teaching music at a summer camp in New York, which was incredible. I enjoy listening to many genres of music, as well as reading, drawing and painting. A bubble bath with a glass of wine or cup of tea is also one of my favourite pastimes!

Music, Movies, and Books

I love the X-Men movies (though I have yet to see them all). I only recently discovered Groundhog Day, and definitely have to put it as one of my favourite movies too!

I listen to almost any music, but particularly like Green Day, The Killers, The 1975, Alan Gogol, Cat Stevens, John Butler Trio, Birds of Tokyo... I could go on and on, but that should give an indication!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Participated in the Scripps National Spelling Bee on behalf of New Zealand as a kid.

More recently, a memorable experience that stands out is going on a spontaneous road trip with a friend I met just days prior so I could go skydiving for the first time.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I've become quite the dishwasher! I'm happy to help around the house, and would love the opportunity to cook some yummy plant-based meals for you. I can also share stories of places I've lived and visited over a card game and a beer or two!
