About Me
Hi I'm Belinda from Sydney, Australia!
4 months ago I quit my job in Sydney to travel South East Asia for a few months - this is the first time I’ve left home without a return date. I’ve been travelling around Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and Cambodia – heading over to the Philippines shortly.
After Asia I’ll be heading over to Canada to work in Vancouver for up to 2 years on a working holiday visa.
I really love travel, experiencing new cultures, meeting lots of new people and above all trying different foods and cuisines. I have a real passion for food and wine and love to cook. When I’m at home or travelling I love trying as many restaurants, cafes and street foods as possible and enjoy great conversations and a few laughs over a meal or a drink with family or friends and people I’ve met on the road.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
My sister actually just got me into Couchsurfing as she's been travelling full time for over 2 years now and has had great experiences with all her hosts. This is something that's completely new to me and I'm really looking forward to giving it a go and sharing some travel stories, laughs and food with some great people. Hoping when I have my own place in Sydney one day I'll be able to return the favour.

Music, Movies, and Books
I like a real mixture of different music and movies. I'm a bit of an all-rounder when it comes to genres. Love comedies, thrillers and dramas - of course a cheesy rom-com every now and then too! As far as music goes, I love the old stuff and a lot of the new stuff. Really love Billy Joel and The Red Hot Chili Peppers.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I completed the Inca Trail in Peru in 2014, however I believe I've now topped that during my recent trip to Borneo (Malaysia) where I completed a 4 day trek through the jungle. During this trek I fell over numerous times while trying to trek through the rough terrain carrying a heavy backpack, walked bare foot through muddy swamps, dealt with endless amounts of leeches, getting bogged in shin deep mud and and a tone of mosquitoes, sand flies and bees - all while battling the heat and humidity at the same time. This was by far the most difficult physical challenge I've completed and something I'm quite proud of.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can share all of my travel experiences so far and of course a lot of knowledge on Sydney - also Perth where I lived for 3 and a half years. I also love to cook and would really enjoy to cook some meals for my hosts or even cook something together.
