Overview
About Me
Hi I’m Belinda Ricks, I’m a married 29 year old elementary music teacher who loves to travel, meet new people, eat local food, drink local beer, and play the ukulele. I am obsessed with essential oils and the natural earth. I playfully refer to myself as a high maintenance hippie. The high maintenance part comes from my bright colored hair and the desire for good food and wine.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I’m couchsurfing as a newfound way to travel. I have recently heard about it from a friend who couch surged across Europe. I am adventurous in a “safe” way and I want to get a little outside of my comfort zone, while meeting new people on adventures I choose!
Interests
My interests are very wide spread from simple ones like movies and tv, to great adventurous travel and food, to local music, foreign languages. Like I said, so much, one day, I’d like to speak another language. I am on my way to learning Spanish, as most of the students I teach speak Spanish as their first language. But I also simply love to surround myself with good people!

Music, Movies, and Books
I love ALL music (very specific about country hits though). My favorite movies are comedies and dramas! My favorite author is James Patterson, but these days, I read through listening to Audible and I enjoy a good motivational text!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I think my most amazing travel journey was to China when I was 10. To get outside, that far outside your comfort zone at that age, completely changes you. You aren’t ready to accept white western society at face value, you challenge the normal, and you accept that you may only fit in while being with outsiders.
Teach, Learn, Share
I am a teacher at heart, so I can teach music (specifically the ukulele, drums, singing, or small percussion). I also teach and share about essential oils and the plants provided to us on this beautiful earth!
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can share my love for nature, my easy goingness, my advice on love and marriage, and of course, a sense of humor worth a million bucks.
