I'm a self employed personal chef with Dinner on Demand Personal Chef Service (I'm in IG @dinnerondemand_bmore and FB @dinnerondemadbmore with website of same name.

I'm 38, about to be married to a Dominican barber, and mother to a 15 year old step son and to two pit bulls who eat raw. I have a tire garden and Korean antiques and yes, I'm really that boring!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To be completely honest, my grandmother Vivian, from whom I've been estranged for a number of years, is dying currently at Steere Nursing Home in Providence, R.I. (made famous by Oscar the Cat who visits the residents of the nursing home who are in the process of dying, some strange 6th sense that he has).

I only have tomorrow and the next day to visit her before she transitions (Friday June 9th-Saturday June 10th) and friends of mine so far have come together to make this happen for me at very little cost so far (including a train conductor friend who was able to get me last minute tickets from Baltimore to Providence for a steal).

Being newly self employed since September, things can get a bit tight, so I opted to try this Couch Surfing instead of my usual Airbnb. I was trying to find a spot without being verified to save even more money for whatever expenses I may have while I'm there and to contribute to the funeral expenses when my Grandma Vivian does eventually transition in the coming week (she's really at the end now).

Would someone kindly take me in for just the time it takes me to sleep and get up and go to Steere Nursing Home? I arrive in Providence at 10:15pm on Friday June 9th and have to be at the hospital the next mid morning. I just need the one night, please.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've chaperoned two international field trips of high school students, one as a guest chaperone and exchange host, and the other I organized myself (to Spain for 3 weeks and Mexico for 2 weeks, respectively).

TEACH: languages, flavor profiles, how to do easy meal prep, natural body products, African divination systems

LEARN: more languages, anything about other cultures, especially history, a good poem in any language

SHARE: whatever I'm able to share! veggies from my garden, the love of my loving pit bulls
