ABOUT ME

I'm a vegetarian/vegan-cooking queer girl based out of Ohio in the US who travels fairly often for work and personal enjoyment. I have worked in non-profits, as a social worker, communications director, and a graphic designer. I was also a career advisor for two years and have taught in a variety of settings, from GED preparation to universities.

I identify first and foremost as an activist, an actor for social change. I always have those conversations that are supposed to be "awkward" - religion, politics, and sex are some of my favorite discussions. I have an MA in Women's Studies and Feminist Research, an MS in Communication Studies, a BA in Sociology, Political Science, Phillsophy and Women's Studies, and I always travel with a stupid number of books. I'm currently enrolled in coursework for a PhD. I can be kind of anxious about expectations when meeting new people, but I'm really trying to challenge myself to reach out to new people. This seemed like a good start.

I have both hosted and been hosted on Couchsurfing and had great experiences! It's been a great opportunity to meet people whom I never would have met and a good way to share resources to make travel more affordable.

TEACH: I can show you how to knit and how to make a kick-ass vegan dinner for non-vegans. I can also show you how to put together your Ikea furniture without breaking things.

LEARN: Oh my god, so much to learn. Teach me what you love, what you know, what you think should be shared on. Or, you know, teach me to play electric bass and make homemade tortillas.
