About Me
I'm 27 years old, I grew up in Melbourne and love nothing more than booking a last minute ticket and ending up on the other side of the world all within a week. My next adventure is New Zealand. I’ve booked a flight into Auckland and that’s all I’ve organised so far.
here's my instagram - isaellgen.
I also use a tumblr to blog sometimes when I travel too - http://returntola.tumblr.com
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I started couch surfing in 2009 in Amsterdam when my friends and I thought it would be a great way to learn more about the places we were visiting. We went to a couch surfing get together that night and realised we'd made a really cool decision. I've only had really great experiences so far meeting really fun people and staying in some great places. There's no better way to learn about a new city than from it's locals so I plan to happily continue to travel this way.
Interests
Here's a few things I really enjoy.
Exploring countries I've never been to, going back to old favourites over and over again, drinking good coffee, trying new ciders and wine, eating good cheese, 1950's architecture, sun baking, hiking, the ocean, European train stations and American airports

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
It's really hard to narrow it down. My trip to South America was jam packed with amazing things everyday, as well as recently walking the Camino de Santiago across Spain, but one of my fondest travel memories is when I lived with some distant family members for a week in Sicily. I can't speak Italian and they didn't speak English but communication was no issue, was like nothing I'd experienced before.
Teach, Learn, Share
All about Australian culture . I think I know Melbourne and the area surounding well enough to really show shomeone what they have traveled there for. I hope people that I surf with can do the same for me.
Willing to learn anything about the way people live their lives in other parts of the world, especially what home life is like and the different food too..
