About Me

Having lived in Cornwall for many years, we moved to Australia two years ago to be with our family here, in the beautiful south west.

It's taken a while to settle in but we are enjoying our new life here. We have a large garden, orchard and vegetable garden which keeps us busy!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am interested in people and am curious about how they tick and how they live. I also like showing people the beautiful county where I live.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We have hosted several people now and have enjoyed all the experiences! We have only stayed with one host, so far, in Nairobi on our travels, but that's mainly because we tend to travel to remote places where there aren't (m)any!

Interests

Art, photography, reading, writing, walking, nature, tennis, swimming, snorkelling and diving, boating, gig rowing, knitting, food and wine, music and dancing, films and theatre, gardening, green issues, talking!

Music, Movies, and Books

Tim Winton is my current favourite writer although I read all sorts. I love all kinds of music from prog rock, punk to classical and I love to dance! It's difficult to list my favourite films -there are so many but Priscilla Queen of the Desert springs to mind!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I climbed Mount Sinai in the dark and heat and watched the sun rise from the summit - amazing. Hard going but definitely worth it!
I'll never forget seeing my first elephant in Tanzania, snorkelling with dolphins in Belize or swimming in a jungle river in Cuba or swimming with Whale Sharks in Australia. We went to Senegal, and spent a short while in a school, which was a wonderful experience.

Teach, Learn, Share

I could teach you to knit, or draw.... or cook!
