ABOUT ME

29 year old, energetic, fun female teacher.

I'm taking an unpaid sabbatical (summer '10 - summer '11). My goals for the year are to speak the language better, dance (I am a hip hop and cuban salsa dancer and would love to learn new styles), travel, meet interesting people, spend time in nature, read good books, write, be crafty, stand up on a surf board without help, be surprised, enjoy life.

Love: reading, traveling, good stories, dancing (specifically salsa), conversations, cheap red wine, most all food, interesting people, laughing.

PHILOSOPHY

This is my favorite poem by Dawna Markova (who said it better than I can):

I will not die an unlived life.
I will not live in fear
of falling or catching fire.
I choose to inhabit my days,
to allow my living to open me,
to make me less afraid,
more accessible,

Have a 14 year old kid tell you that they see the world (and their role in it) in a new and positive way because of you and you'll understand why teaching is the best job on the planet.

I'm a great teacher! I've taught history, math, dance and creative writing in English. I would love to learn Spanish, other forms of dance (tango or flamenco maybe), sewing, cooking, surfing, crafty things.
