ABOUT ME

under a phenomenical, external point of view, what i can say is that i'm 20 years old (nearly, at moment of editing profile), i have quite a huge (and complicated!) family extended across the Mediterranean (i.e from Italy to Malta, to Lebanon). this could easily lead to a stereotypical image of the extroverted and outgoing italian guy, reminding of the film "my big fat greek marriage" (terrible film in my opinion). in reality, though, i have quite an uncodified character. i am definitely moody, but this, let's say, never runied my social relationships (!!). i have one younger brother (intermediate level of school) with whom i get on well. i am very curious, though not in an encyclopedial sense (!), but rather dialectically, by which i mean i like linking things together. i have a few friends towards whom i'm very grateful and of who i'm very proud.

PHILOSOPHY

i don't travel to arrive at the destination, i travel having in mind my destination and in the same time considering somehow a destination every place i pass through. i give importance to the itinerary of every life-jurney i begin. for more details =), see the poem "Itaca" by Konstantinos Kavafis (contemporary Greek author).

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

so far, my couchserfing experinece is very limited: i took place in a meeting here in Modena organized raughly at the end of october2008, which was for me a very pleasant welcome in the community/atmosphere. i got to know meny interesting people, among who David, a likable fisicist i afterwards met in few other occasions. i was introduced in the project by Paolo, another Couchserfer from modena, who patiently drove me in the idea of joining the group. another significant episode was the welcoming of Arthur, a French member who decided to put himself in Paolo's, Chiara's, Michele's and my hands to be taken a bit around the town on a "touristic-tour" (hem hem).. hope he enjoyded it. that day we also met David who came with us to admire the astonishing beauty of Parco della Repubblica, modena =) =)

兴趣

i'm deeply interested in philosophy, though lately i have little time to dedicate to it. i'm also ignorant about last century's philosophy, so if someone has enough patience to teach.. i would learn with pleasure. i'm trying to put together this interest with my ordinary studies (medical), trying to approach neurosience and fields of the sort. but it's very hard (no time...!!).
another interest is theatre: i take part in an amateur company. we usually put on comedies, but lately even something more dramatic.

i know almost nothing about cinema. what i know i was thaught by a friend of mine. so i'm afraid i would give imprecise judgments if had to express my opinion on films. i like a lot, though, Pasolini. as far as books are concerned, i prefer essays to novels. the last i read were by Nietzche, Freud; i like Hesse (these are novels though); Colli, Severino, Galli. scientific essays: Koch, Crick, Churchland, Dennett. Fiction: Calvino, Pirandello, Dostoevskji, Kafka; poetry: Leopardi, Eliot, Pound.

It's really difficult for me to find such an event... sometimes I find my whole life amazing..
