ABOUT ME

Recently graduated from the Willem de Kooning Academy in Rotterdam, Holland where I got my bachelor in graphic design. For the spring semester of 2009 (January through June) I went on exchange in Vancouver at the Emily Carr University. In the beginning of August 2010, I moved back to Vancouver. Here I work as a graphic designer in a small design studio in awesome Gastown.

I play fieldhockey, my addiction - my only one. I love sports, outdoor sports and team sports most of all. I like going out, am a big big music fan and love to dance, having a good glass of wine, good conversations... While on the other hand I also like to be at home, daydreaming, writing (www.myfavoriteadventures.com/blog), drawing or whatever. My ipod is my biggest friend. Walking down the street, with music on, and shooting pictures...!

I think I'm a social person, not TO social - I'm not friends with everyone I meet. But I don't judge at first sight, and I'm open for discussions or other peoples view of whatsoever. As long as people know what they talk about :). Besides that I'm a very active person, I talk quite a lot and love, LOVE to listen to music.

Love the outdoors. Camping, snowboarding, getting lost and soaking in natural hotsprings.

PHILOSOPHY

So many people live within unhappy circumstances and yet will not take the initiative to change their situation because they are conditioned to a life of security, conformity, and conservatism, all of which may appear to give one peace of mind, but in reality nothing is more dangerous to the adventurous spirit within a man than a secure future. The very basic core of a man’s living spirit is his passion for adventure. The joy of life comes from our encounters with new experiences, and hence there is no greater joy than to have an endlessly changing horizon, for each day to have a new and different sun.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I couchsurfed my way down on the American West coast - which I would definitely call the adventure of my life. I didn't know anyone when I entered the US border. Went back to Canada with a bunch of great new friends and experiences. I also did some couchsurfing in Europe now and well all of my experiences where nothing but positive!

Interests

AAh... a lot; i LOVE snowboarding, wish I could do that everyday. Biking, offcourse cause I'm dutch. I play fieldhockey at home, 3 times a week. Further I love art, writing, lots nd lots of music, walking around cities, talking - lots of talking...
