About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Adrift in Southeast Asia

ABOUT ME

I'm an easygoing, laid-back kind of guy who enjoys a drink and the company of good people.

I'm always learning from people and places and I have more credence in books than formalized education. I positively affect humanity through laughter and sharing experience.

PHILOSOPHY

Someone once asked me what I wanted out of life and what was I trying to do with myself. This was my first response:
- I want to be around people as much as possible.
- I want to leave people better off than they were before they met me.
- I want to create a lasting impression, but it does not need to be immortal.
- I don't want to be a monkey in an office.
- I want to experience new places and new things.
- I want to be with someone who loves me as much as I love them; whom I can share experiences with and who will make me smile in the worst of times.
- I want to be financially free, not necessarily rich, but live comfortably within my means.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have seen some couches in my day. Mostly those of friends and others I attended university with, but for awhile I was sleeping solely on couches. I came to prefer them to a bed at one point. I am almost always at the grace and favor of a host and I understand respecting the home and offering help to relieve any burden of my stay. I find the most rewarding part about couch surfing is learning about individuals and their backgrounds from a personal perspective. I also sleep quite comfortably in hammocks.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Singling an event or place may destroy what I love by trying to share it and wouldn't give respect to the small and difficult to describe events that are only special to me.

Teach, Learn, Share

The proper amount of time to sanitize water for drinking occurs when the water reaches a rolling boil.

Don't change money at the border.

Eat like the locals do.

When visiting snow covered landscapes, do not eat or play in yellow snow.

A good pair of sandals will last you longer than a good pair of shoes.

Roundhouse kick related deaths have increased by 1300% since Chuck Norris was born.
