Overview
About Me
I grew up on the outskirts of Perth, Western Australia, a city of around two million people. To the west is the Indian Ocean until you hit Cape Town on the southern tip of Africa, to the east, mostly desert. In its isolation, Perth is a quiet place with a friendly, relaxed feel.
I am happiest outdoors, rock-climbing or swimming at the beach; this is possibly because I currently spend way too much time being a PhD student!
I'm highly motivated and will give most things a go. I love meeting new people, sharing experiences, learning about new things and, relish teasing out the meaning of life over unhelpful amounts of beer or wine!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Couch surfing seems like a great opportunity to meet people and see new places in a way that is not as rigid or confining as traditional touring. I think being reliant on the hospitality of others, makes for a less expectant and more open mindset when visiting new places. It's also awesome to have a local connection straight away that knows all about the place you're in.
Currently I do not have a surfable couch because I live in a share house! but I would definitely like to host in the future under more amenable circumstances.

Music, Movies, and Books
I love so many different books and films and types of music that it would be a betrayal of most of them if I was to make a short list here!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Hiked up Mt. Fansipan (Phan Xi Păng) in northern Vietnam (near the Chinese border). The most amazing view I've ever seen!
Teach, Learn, Share
I have previously tutored students in mathematics, physics, chemistry and English I am currently learning Spanish and would love to learn from a native speaker or with a fellow student. I also rock climb avidly and muck-around on the guitar from time to time.
What I Can Share with Hosts
My enthusiasm for life, past experiences and the prospect of new ones ...and my limited Spanish vocabulary
