About Me

Hello!

My name is Ben. I write and teach philosophy for a living, but my passion is travelling.

I like to think of myself as a polite, considerate, person, open to all and every viewpoint and opinion. I kind of just wish the whole world would be friendly with each other - it's not that hard to be nice, is it?

I'm currently renting a room in a fantastic house in Nottingham from a chap who's an expert couchsurfing host (he's got more than 160 reviews) and it's him that's put me on to this (this lovely fellow: https://www.couchsurfing.com/users/1417874).

At any rate, it's fantastic having people come to stay for a few days here, and I'm now looking to find fantastic places and people from elsewhere to visit.

In about 6 months or so I'll hopefully be getting my own place, and then I'll be opening it up to couchsurfers too. Very much looking forward to it. In the meantime if anyone is visiting Nottingham and wants to meet up with me, I'd be very happy to do so. I'm often free in the days as well as the evenings, so I'd be happy to show people around if I'm free - just drop me a message.

My favourite thing to do in the whole world is to meet interesting people and have interesting conversations... but hang on, all of this feeds into the answer to the question below... So:

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Quite simply, I love travelling and meeting new and interesting people. Given the opportunity to stay in a 5* hotel, or on the sofa at a host's home, I'd choose the latter. I can't believe it's taken me so long to sign up to this. I've been wasting my trips away! So, thanks to my current landlord for opening my eyes to couchsurfing.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hmmm... I don't know.... I've published a book on the metaphysics of time - is that amazing? I suppose it's unusual, at least, so it will do!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am willing and able to talk about philosophy till you're bored to death of me.

I am very clean, tidy, and respectful of your home and space.

I'm a good cook, and would be happy to prepare a meal (if so desired - I'm also happy to look after myself and keep out of your way if that's preferred).
