Hello! I'm Ben and I'm from the Irish seaside. I'm a freelance journalist working on humanitarian stories, and anything else that I find interesting. In six months time I'm off on an odyssey around the world with my lovely girlfriend, Anna (https://www.couchsurfing.com/users/1002398027).

Right now I live in Amman, Jordan. If I could, I would sleep in under the stars in the desert of Wadi Rum every night. Soon I'll be travelling to Sri Lanka to see all the tea, and then I'm off to base myself in the Czech Republic. I've visited most European countries, but I'll be touring many of them again from Brno.

For our world adventure we'll be jetting off to Istanbul before heading east through the wilds of Armenia and Georgia, through the ruins of Iran and the plains of Kazakhstan. We'll see where we end up.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm on Couchsurfing because we don't want to stay in tepid hotels. We want to meet new friends and experience how people live wherever we are.

Interests

I both love and hate writing. At times it is the easiest thing in the world, but at others it is like herding cats. I'm also a keen photographer and I'm learning how to shoot video. And I read lots and lots and lots.

I'm very interested in humanitarian work and my dream is to tell the stories of those who seem to have no voice to call for help.
