About Me

I'm traveling across the US and stopping along the way to hike, take photos, hang out in coffee shops, and meet people. My favorite way to get to know somebody is to cook a meal with them! I'm clean, easy-going, and eager to poke my head into the nooks and crannies of this crazy country.

I like to explore cities on foot and I love catching live music at bars and clubs.

Whether you have lots of time to chat and share experiences or you're busy doing your thing, I'm open to whatever hosting arrangement works for you. I am LGBT friendly and I love pets!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm here to learn about the places I visit from the perspectives of the people I stay with. And, let's be real, I'm too broke to pay for a place to stay.

Interests

Everything in the world interests me. I'm an aspiring journalist, a nature lover, a beer drinker, a podcast junkie, a museum-goer, and an overall listener. I like to get off the beaten path and away from the crowds.

I love to talk about books (old stuff), movies (weird stuff), and politics (unabashed leftist).

Music, Movies, and Books

I listen to all sorts of music: hip hop, pop, rock, jazz, bluegrass. I'm always looking to hear new artists and find out what other people's absolute favorite songs are.

I read a LOT. A few writers I like are Don DeLillo, George Saunders, J.D. Salinger, Sylvia Plath, Faulkner, and Lawrence Ferlinghetti.

I like movies by Stanley Kubrick, Jeff Nichols, Paul Thomas Anderson, Woody Allen, and basically anything with Jim Carrey in it. Honestly I'm always up for a good sci-fi romp.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One time I got lost for a whole day way out on a mountain range in Alaska.

Teach, Learn, Share

I believe in being honest and genuine, and in that spirit I'm very open about sharing my experiences with the people I meet. I also believe in accepting other people for who they are and I am always striving to be an empathetic listener.
