About Me

In the last couple of years I've been on a couple of backpacking trips both at home (interstate) and abroad (Europe).

I try not to plan too much in advance, definitely love to just try to take things as they come.

I also just love the adventure of wandering around new places as I feel that's the best way to get to know them.

And most importantly I love meeting new people, whether that be other travellers visiting Adelaide or when I'm travelling abroad. Nothing better than to share stories and a laugh and to acquire knowledge about different cultures and different parts of the world.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

On my past travels I've made some great friends from all over the world.
It's so great being able to socialise with such a diverse range of people and being able to learn about what their culture is like and their experiences.
It really helps to appreciate and understand the world a lot better.
Also l think by far the best way to get to know a city, village etc. is by staying and socialising with locals.

Interests

Travelling (obviously)

Sports - I love most sports, I currently play volleyball & dodgeball. I love watching football (soccer), I'm a huge Adelaide United and Everton fan.

History/Culture - I'm always quite keen to learn about history in general, but
especially about the local history of wherever I am and the local culture. So I love visiting museums and art galleries, especially ones that are a bit more abstract.

Outdoors/Nature - Whether it's in the bush or on the beach I love spending time outdoors, especially in the summer months!

Beer - A couple of years ago I wouldn't have called myself a "beer" person, it was just the cheapest thing to buy when going out. However after visiting Europe, although I wouldn't quite call myself a beer connoisseur, I've really enjoyed learning about and tasting (of course) different crafts of beer.

Music, Movies, and Books

My playlist has a lot of different stuff, what I listen to depends on my mood.
My favourite band though is most definitely The Script.

I enjoy Harry Potter (especially enjoyed visiting quite a few of the filming locations).
Various sitcoms/comedies, and really into period dramas like Mad Men and Peaky Blinders.
Don't mind the odd game show either.

My favourite things to read are travel guides, travel blogs, pretty much anything to do with travel really lol.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Just suddenly deciding one day to take a break from life at home and with basically no plan going on a 3 month trip (albeit within my own country).
I know most people here have probably done it but it was my first time solo away from home and the whole thing was one giant amazing experience.

Teach, Learn, Share

Sharing advice on places I've lived and travelled + of course sharing stories from my adventures on the road.
Particularly for anyone looking to visit Australia and do some farm work.

I always love to learn about new cultures, especially when it comes to food and drink (I mean who doesn't).

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'd love to be able to share anything about Australia that anyone wants to know.
Most importantly though I'd love to share a good time and hopefully a very memorable experience, then hopefully one day sharing that same experience again at my home.
