Last summer, I traveled to India with my best friend Nik and his parents for his cousin's wedding. We stayed in Mumbai, Goa, and New Dheli (with a side trip to the Taj Mahal in Agra), before settling in Lucknow for the wedding. Never in my life have I experienced so grand of an event. Nik's extended family and friends treated me as family and included me in all the celebrations. I learned many of their rituals and customs that are essential to the success of the wedding. On the final night, we danced in the street in a parade with dozens of musicians blowing their horns and beating their drums on the way to the venue. The family threw money into the air out of celebration. We arrive at the venue and there must be 300-400 people there. A whole room was dedicated to serving scrumptious food from around the world. Everybody was rejoicing through music and dance. It was an experience I will never forget.
