Overview
About Me
I'm a young Canadian who is hoping to one day become someone interesting. I come from a middle class family living out in the country, and have pretty big dreams of seeing the world. I'm almost ready to find a place to settle in for the long haul, but I want to see the world while I'm still young and spirited. I want to spend a few years working and living abroad, maybe try studying in another country, etc. I try to get on every social media I can because I like having friends in as many different countries as I can.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Let's be real, a free place to stay is fantastic. If you're here for the shiny heartwarming answer, read on.
I know that the best way to get connected to the place I'm staying in is by making friends who know the cultural ins and outs. I want to hear from you guys what it is actually like living in your country, and have a chance to get a feel for what you call home. There's only so far that my imagination goes! I want to see your favourite hole-in-the-wall restaurants, that wacky mall you found where they sell the funniest trinkets, and most of all, just walk around the urban sprawls and make memorable conversation! Just because I'm only here for a while doesn't mean I don't want to hear from you again. "Joy is multiplied among friends, and grief diminishes with every division. Such is life." (If you can place that quote WITHOUT Googling it, kudos and a cold one to you!) I don't want to impose on your house overlong, but I want to hear a local's perspective on what to do and where to do it!
Interests
I've always had the dream of writing a novel one day. For now, I just write random notes and read a lot of books for inspiration. I enjoy talking about why people do the things they do, talks about the world and cool ideas to move it forward (wouldn't it be cool if we had a scientific Olympics that tackled large problems in the world every five years and earned prestige as well as bettered humankind?), funny videos of cats, and other assorted intricacies.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music-wise, I listen to almost anything. I like classical and folk, I like rock and metal, I like pop and rap and *even* some country. I love instrumental tracks from movies or games (keep a bunch on my phone) and have an open mind.
For movies, I'm a pretty big geek for Star Wars and LotR, as well as a handful of other fantasy or sci-fi type deals. Comedy is also always a hit for me. I also like Game of Thrones, Naruto, One Punch Man, and The Walking Dead.
As for books, I'm all in on fiction. My favourite series is the Legend of Drizzt, and I also like Malazan Book of the Fallen, Percy Jackson and the assorted series by Rick Riordan, and I love love love H.P. Lovecraft's works as well. Recently I've been branching out a bit more, and not keeping an updated list of what I've read (sorry, looks like we'll have to talk about it the old-fashioned way).
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I mean, the biggest thing that comes to mind is just dropping my life here in Canada to go travel the world. That's huge for me. Pretty scary. I once killed a giant in Skyrim using only my fists. There's that. I taught myself how to do a running front flip. That's pretty cool too. I climbed Mount Fuji, that's nifty I guess. I ate a baby duck right out of the shell once, but that was mostly peer pressure, so I don't know how much credit I can take.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you some cool stage combat tricks from a medieval festival I've been in for about 7 years. I used to know a few magic tricks as well (not that they're any good...)! I can tell you fun stories about how me and some of my best friends played hilarious pranks in shopping malls (I once acquired some urine sample containers...) or teach you how to sign the alphabet in (American) sign language. I've got hundreds of Steam games, so if you're into video games I would love another player to game with. I know a few mixed drinks, like to see fancy architecture and awesome geography, I have tons of experience with kids, and am almost nearly semi quite personable.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Pretty much any activities you like doing, I'm down for. I'm seeing the world and all it has to offer, so I don't want to hold back. I am kind've acrophobic, so I'm not super keen on skydiving or roller coasters, but you can bet I'll try it at least once. I can share drinks, share laughs, share time, share money, and if necessary, even share a toilet.
Jokes. But yeah, I'm hoping I can regale you with passable stories of my sparse visits to interesting locations around the world, meeting people with eccentric personalities, and keep you laughing while I'm there and smiling when I'm gone. Thanks for reading!
