Hi! I am a 19 year old student from the USA. I currently live in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. but I was born in California. I was only there for a few weeks before moving to Mexico for a year, then to North Carolina, then to Spain for a year, then back to North Carolina. Finally, I moved to Pittsburgh when I was 9, where I have been ever since.

I am currently studying computer science at the University of Pittsburgh, and hope to graduate in 2019. I have an older brother who also attends Pitt, and he is graduating in 2017 with a degree in Electrical Engineering, and a minor in computer science.

Once I am in a living situation in which I can offer my house to fellow couchsurfers, I absolutely will! Unfortunately strict leases won't allow me to do that for now...give it a few years!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I plan on traveling across Western Europe for the majority of the summer of 2016. As I transition my life into adulthood, I want to take any opportunity I can get to travel before it is too late. I realized that this summer may be one of the last summers I have in the foreseeable future before I will either have to get a job, or continue classes.

I want to take this chance to travel Europe and relive many of the vague experiences I recall from when I was five and living in Spain.

Interests

My number one hobby is Ultimate Frisbee. I have played frisbee since my freshman year of high school, where I was named captain my sophomore year. From there I joined a summer club team that competed at the national championships for the 5 years that I was eligible for the team.

Through frisbee I have met incredible people of all different shapes and sizes. I have learned to interact and socialize with people that I would have never met in any other circumstance.

I hope to be able to use frisbee as a window to meet people all across the world, and plan on participating in tournaments wherever I can find them during my travels.

Music, Movies, and Books

In terms of music, you will always find me with my headphones in ear. I don't have a strong preference to any one genre, and am always in search of new music to refresh my playlists with.

I have recently be listening to a lot of electronic music. I attended Bonnaroo music festival in the US in 2015, and am attending one day of Tomorrowland in Belgium this summer. I love attending concerts, as it is a way to meet tons of interesting people.

As for movies and books, I love fantasy. I am an avid Game of Thrones fan (both books and show), and am desperately awaiting the new book and season to come out.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In 2013 I travelled in Samoa to visit the family that my dad had lived with when he participated in Peace Corps 30 years ago. We stayed there for two weeks, learning the culture and experiencing the wildly different lifestyle. It is by far the most unique place I have ever been to, and I would love to go back and spend more time there learning the language .

I consider myself a good teacher, and would love to be able to teach you English, or anything else that you may want to know.

I am always in search of learning new philosophies to life, and am open to any beliefs or views. I would also like to learn how to be a better cook, and hopefully learn some new foreign recipes that I can show off to my friends and family back home.
