About Me

I'm a musician, farmer and writer with a love for travel and new experiences. I love taking photos, reading and drinking fine craft beers.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Myself and my girlfriend, Connie, are driving from California to Virginia, where I have a great job at a permaculture farm lined up. We have a few places we want to stop on the way. I've used Couchsurfing before, when I was taking long bicycle trips a few years back, and so I thought it would be a good time to return to the community.

Music, Movies, and Books

My favorite album right now is Mockroot by Tigran Hamasyan, an Armenian jazz pianist who blends unique rhythmic concepts with traditional folk melodies for a really captivating sound.

My favorite movie right now is Tree of Life directed by Terence Malick, although I love many many films. Far too many to list here.

I just finished reading The Intuitionist by Colson Whitehead, a racial allegory occurring in the fictional world of elevator inspectors and centered around Lila Mae Watson, the only black female inspector in the trade. I'm currently going through Isaac Asimov's Foundation Trilogy. My favorite book of all time is Bradbury's The Martian Chronicles.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Last year myself and my roommate constructed a half an acre of super rich topsoil and garden beds in Maryland as a phase one of a three year permaculture design project on 200 acres of old farmland. It can be seen on Google Earth.
