Overview
About Me
I grew up outside of a small town called Nekoosa in central Wisconsin. My siblings and I spent our childhood rambling through the woods, and I always aspire to maintain that exuberance that children can channel so well. I went to college at SUNY-Geneseo in western New York and finished with a BS in Biochemistry. I moved to Baltimore where I now work in a neuroscience lab. I'm on my way back to grad school for some variant of environmental microbiology. I love to read. A former collegiate runner, I now practice vinyasa yoga and try to backpack as much as possible. I'm a sucker for good conversations over great beers.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
A home is a deeply personal space, and sharing that space with others allows for greater connections between humans and more personal growth. Not to mention that you get a better feel for the community in which said home is located.
Interests
I am a scientist, and enjoy the process of discovery. Learning is one of my greatest passions. I love the outdoors and activities such as backpacking, cross country skiing, and running, and am constantly discovering new ways to play outside. I have recently become engaged in Eastern traditions and methods of thought, and am developing (somewhat) regular yoga and meditation practices.

What I Can Share with Hosts
Cooking and conversation. About anything. If you have brandy and bitters (or if I'm carrying them), I'll make you a mean brandy old fashioned.
