Hey there guys,

I'm Ben, 20 years old, currently doing an aprenticeship in Mechatronics (a combination Mechanical and Electrical engineering) in Ilshofen Germany. I have my own apartment in Crailsheim where I will be living for another year until finishing my aprenticeship.

At the ripe age of 18 I finished my high school experience in Trumbull, CT. GO EAGLES! My parents decided that instead of the usual college experience all of their children should do an aprenticeship since they all have dual citizenship. So here i am 2 years later...

I highly enjoy Skyping with my long distance girlfriend (who gets annoyed by my constant calling XD) as well as playing X-Box and generally just relaxing and taking it easy.

I prefer staying in and watching a good movie or reading a good book but only because I don't have someone to adventure with and find going out alone not as exciting. I am always down to try new things and go on new adventures.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Due to the lack of close co-workers and no car, I have decided to get my share of human contact through couchsurfing.

I love meeting new people and although I'm shy at first, I open up quickly and have no problem talking your ear off :P

Interests

As previously mentioned i am a big fan of annoying my girlfriend. Ontop of that I am an avid fan of Soccer, namely the Bundesliga (HSV) as well as catching up on my favorite TV shows on Netflix.

When I can find time (at home in the US) I also enjoy playing Soccer with my friends. Camping and spending time outside is always good and I LOVE the cold.

I will listen to basically anthing except Country. I tend to have phases where I switch between Rap and Post-Hardcore (Rock) but I also enjoy Classical, Classic Rock, Folk.

I have been living independantly by myself in a different country, 4000 miles (6800km for the rest of the world) away from home and 400 miles (700km) from the closest relatives for the past 2 years since I was 18.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can offer a small tour of Crailsheim a small town of 30,000 people that was once occupied by allied US forces and left mostly untouched by the horrors of WWII. I can also share my dual culturality (not a word) having been raised in the US by German parents.
