About Me

I am a fisheries biologist/marine ecologist. My passions lie in understanding our natural world from the coastal perspectives and sharing that knowledge with the public.

I consider myself an ambervert (or extroverted introvert). Over the last few years I have challenged everything I knew in order to live a more fulfilling life. And boy is it worth it!

To me, sunsets are always worth it; a life lived is better than a lifetime of simply existing; no dream is too absurd to chase; and Love is always better than Fear

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

A quote that I have recently started to hold true and practice is this: "A stranger is a just friend you have not met yet" - Yes Theory. Couchsurfing is a unique way to travel and meet strangers from around the world, who really are just friends I have yet to meet. Joining couchsurfing was one of my first steps in seeking discomfort!

Music, Movies, and Books

Always a fan of The Beatles, Elton John, Billy Joel and any of the rock legends. Although my more current genre of exploration is Folk and Indie

Shamelessly a fan of the series Warriors by Erin Hunter! and Merlin - TA Barron. Neil Gaiman is also one of my favorite authors.

I am a life long fan of Star Wars! Big nerd here, and proud of it!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In October of 2017, I spent 3 weeks in Peru, traveling and studying biodiversity in the Peruvian Amazon... There is so much beauty that the tropical world, and the rest of the world, holds.

I worked on commercial fishing vessels out at sea studying deep sea fish as a fisheries biologist!

I was once in a position where I helped hundreds of people change their lives for the better, and they don’t know it :)

Teach, Learn, Share

I absolutely love the natural world and will happily share my knowledge of it!
