Hi! My name is Ben.

I'm a keen traveller and Industrial Designer by trade. I travel because I find it rewarding on so many levels. I love travel for the beautiful scenery, authentic food, unexpected adventures, unique smells and most of all the wonderful people!

I've packed a healthy amount of travelling into the last few years of my life, having visited over 60 countries. A few of my favourite experiences include driving a third of the way around the planet in a tiny granny car, hiking solo through the high passes of the Himalayas and hitch-hiking my way across Canada. I recently returned from a 17 month trip circumnavigating the world.

I'm a very easy going person and I love to push my limits. I see myself as a student of life, I'm always making an effort to learn a new skill or better myself.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I think the best way to really experience a place is through a locals eyes, they have an insight and wealth of knowledge that can only be gained through years of experience in one place.

I hope to learn about the places I visit through a locals perspective, and also share my knowledge and passion for Sydney and the surrounding areas with travellers from around the world.

I love music that takes you on a journey. I'm happy listening to anything but some of my favourite bands/musicians are Tycho, Emancipator, Yppah, Ludovico Einaudi, Kodomo, Bombay Bicycle Club and the Temper Trap.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Too many to count!
One of my most recent favourite moments was Hitch-hiking on the roof of a packed bus in the Philippines, we were driving through a beautiful forest at sunset and all the trees were glowing with the lights of thousands of fireflies.
