About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Exploring the zen economy, researching radical thrift, meeting beautiful people, living the life fantastic, leaving behind a trail of breadcrumbs
ABOUT ME
I lived in Portland first in 2009 & 2010 when I operated the Portland Free Store at SE 11th and Clay.
I took a break and moved to New Haven, CT where I participated in Occupy (plenty of criticisms myself) and opened my second Free Store in a vacant downtown storefront two blocks from Yale University.
I'm back in Portland and I'd like to say hi! And I've decided to stay. I work with Oregon Oils (a biofuels company), own a flyer distribution company, write, cook, and love spending time around people.
I'm an only child, but my best friend of 10 years lives in town, and two of my friends from New Haven have decided to join me in getting established.
I'm socially laid back. My friends call me "Mike Rowe" when it comes to work. I plan on living as thriftily as I can until I'm able to afford land. I'm an entrepreneur and I'd like to help found a commune that has space for that.
PHILOSOPHY
Ensure that everyone around me is comfortable at all times
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I have been a long-time host for travelers over the years, but for now it's me playing as guest.
I always help deep clean, do household repairs, participate (if desired) in house meetings, keep my spaces tidy, provide food, and cook for my hosts.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have been a couch surfer since I was a teenager. Traveling is one of the most important and consistent streams in my life.
