Music, Movies, and Books

I play classical violin, so thats where it all starts for me - then i discovered classic rock, jazz, reggae, electronic, etc... i believe (and have seen during my travels) that music, irregardless of genre, can be used to share thoughts and emotions that spoken language sometimes just cant capture. So i love learning about new music from friends, travelers, and locals, and am always adding songs to my library!

I dont get too much free time at home, but while traveling this past year i found lots of time to read and rediscovered the amazing world of literature. Some of my favorite books ive read during my backpacking trip across asia and india include The Brothers Karamazov (classic russian novel), the Mahabharata (ancient indian epic), and Shantaram (awesome book about guy from australia who escapes from prison and goes to live in india). I also loved watching the bollywood films in india! So much fun.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Exploring the temples of Angkor Wat (Cambodia), hiking through the Himalayas (Nepal), scuba diving the Similan Islands (Thailand), living with families in villages in the middle of the Nepalese and India jungles, hitchhiking New Zealand top to bottom (and back again)... this world is filled with so many amazing things to see and do. And best of all - the people i met along the way have been so kind, generous, and helpful. This trip was very inspirational, and i cant wait to see more.
