关于我
ABOUT ME
I like to think of myself as very friendly and polite, and I've been told as much. I love to travel--I have been an avid traveler most of my life, and I hope to continue that for many years to come! One of my favorite parts of traveling is meeting new people, so let's chat :] I'm excited to meet you, whoever you are!
PHILOSOPHY
Though I generally don't like the idea of a "personal philosophy" (as Schelling says, a person cannot "have" a philosophy, but rather constantly performs one), I try to live my life according to a "live and let live" attitude. If you're not hurting anyone, you are more than welcome to behave and live however you please without judgment from me or anyone else. This does not mean, however, than we can't discuss disagreements and debate one another's views and lives--personal growth requires being able to answer for and explain why you do the things you do.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have not yet participated in a CouchSurfing experience, though I love the idea and have in the past hosted and stayed with people through all kinds of other programs and random connections!
兴趣
I'm currently studying philosophy as an undergraduate and I hope to pursue a Ph.D. in philosophy as well. As such, I read. A lot. I also love meeting new people and going new places, especially wandering around new cities. Good food (another area where my Southerness shows strongly--if it's fried I'll eat it) and drink are also essential parts of my life.

音乐、电影和书籍
I mostly read philosophy texts (contemporary French and German philosophy for the most part) these days, but my favorite novels include As I Lay Dying by Faulkner, In the Lake of the Woods by Tim O'Brien, Sometimes a Great Notion by Ken Kesey, and The Heart is a Lonely Hunter by Carson McCullers among many many others. I LOVE to talk about books and read new ones.
我做过的一件不可思议的事情
One of the most experiences of my life occurred when I visited my sister while she was living in Xela, Guatemala. We went on a hike that ends at a lake inside the crater of an inactive volcano--the mist around the lake coupled with the experience of being inside a crater was absolutely breathtaking.
