About Me

CURRENT MISSION

find the fiction in the spaces of truth

ABOUT ME

I really enjoy storytelling, both listening and sharing. I work for an education program helping brooklyn children on the fringes through the mud and destruction of the current education system. While in istanbul for the last year I was able to participate in the momentary glories of new societal possibility at Gezi. Now I continue to look for the possibility of something new within spaces to create. I have travelled in India, Nepal, Central America and passed through Europe to catch up with old friends.

PHILOSOPHY

I wear hats.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I like to think listen and participate in discussion, while I don't play an instrument, participating in circles of music and conversation is where I feel alive. I love the mountains, wind and sunshine while camping in ravines, but have placed my self in cities for the past year. I love german and russian literature, but if we get talking philosophically be ready for some good stories and strange facts about the world

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have hitchhiked around and stayed with friends through nepal and europe. I have friends from around the world who host and couch surf, and my house hosted while living in the santa cruz mountains in california. I had the most glorious time moving around and couchsurfing trough lebanon.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I was walking down the streets of istanbul, and a dog was walking next to some friends and I. As we were all walking together the dog became apart of our group, and one moment the dog was looking up and smiling, and the next it had a hat in its mouth. I, shocked by seeing the hat, grabbed it. The dog looked at me with another smile, saying "keep it, the hat is yours". Entitled to the dog for the new gift, I went to the shop and bought him/her a kebab. The dog and I are good friends now, and generally say hi when we walk pass eachother.

Teach, Learn, Share

While I am not an expert I enjoy philosophical conversation. I am pretty darn good with the hula hoop throwing tricks up and down my body, but at the moment I don't have a hoop to practice with. I teach high schoolers about Marx and imperialism, but I can also run a killer lesson in long division...
