I never tire of discovering new places and meeting interesting people, getting my ears cleaned in a Delhi park, playing with all sorts of animals...

What I Can Share with Hosts

Provide tips on travel to Asia and Africa (expedition leader Kilimanjaro, etc.), Apéritif dinatoire..
Please note (can't find the caption "my home") this is not my main abode but a quiet "shanti refuge" a small boat which I keep mostly on dry dock as I move a lot. Don't expect house comfort or amenities, there're a few berths, a kitchen, lots of books and music (some guy called Mozart mainly), you have to walk or cycle to the shower and loo, the surroundings are a tad eerie in the cold season, hot in the summer. There's an ordinary sand beach 6kms away (nice cycle ride, bikes for rent in town). Oh, and there are mosquitoes, except when the mistral wind is howling. Last but not least, it's 45kms south of Arles, as I keep reminding prospective surfers, so not practical for daily festival-goers. In fact, why on earth anyone would come here beats me, but I enjoy the peace even at the peak of the holiday rush. So be warned and aware, like the desert or the sea, there is nothing here but what you bring and receive, friendliness, spaghettis and pastis. This diatribe is not to put you off, just to avoid having too many requests, mostly from fine people who couldn't find a couch in Arles ;+)
