About Me

CURRENT MISSION

The same as every day pinky... try to take over the world!!

ABOUT ME

I would say I'm a pretty laid back person, always willing to try new things and not a lot bothers me (life is too serious as it is!). I listen, am open-minded and get a lot joy giving happiness to others. I love to share my experiences with a partner/group, though will happily do something on my own if I have to and just tell you about it later :)

PHILOSOPHY

If you always do what you've always done, you'll always get what you've always got.

I truly believe this.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

A good friend told me of his epic experiences and felt I had to give it a go.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Absolutely ZERO!!! Will happily host when I'm settled somewhere, but am looking to build up that surfing experience while I'm on the move...

Interests

What interests me??? How long have you got?

Sport and Exercise:
I love lots of physical activities... anything that gets me out the house. Football, Rugby and Tennis in a previous life (harder to play now while on the move so much) though enjoy a kickabout whenever i can, grass, pavement or beach.... well, mainly beach!! Spent a lot of time hiking when in NZ, random climbing and running activities, and going to the gym. Unfortunately I have maintained the gym goers appetite for food, long after putting the dumbells down traveling again... but i'll get onto that below!

Reading:
I read a lot as a kid. This dwindled through the teenage years as girls and games got more of a priority.. but picked up again post uni. I read >20 books in my first 6 months of travel... and have lost count since then. My favourite is fantasy (think Game of Thrones and Kingkiller Chroniicles) though can read more. Favorites are the aforementioned, Catch 22, First Law and the Demon Cycle.

Music:
I love music, though my bad singing is only bested by my instrument playing abilities... However i will sing if you wish. I don't think i could get by without my iPod while traveling (I know, relying on technology is bad.. but i love my music). My choice in genre is dictated by my mood and on the environment around me. I'm always on the look out for new bands so please share. My favourite artists are Citizen Cope, Ben Howard, the XX, Daughter, Justin Nozuka, Jake Bugg, this list could just go on and on and on and on.

Movies:
As with the above, I love watching movies. I enjoy the cinema or watching at home, alone or with a friend or partner. I couldn't pick a favourite.. i enjoy drama, comedy, fantasy, action, sci-fi... I love it all.

Food:
Ah food! I do love food, and enjoy cooking. I'm no masterchef but am equally no stranger around the kitchen. My recent experience in cooking traditional thai food has me eager to branch out more when i get home.

General:
Like most people, I am interested in most things. Talking about life, the big things, the little things, the good and the bad. I generally won't find any subject boring, though I'm still looking :)

Music, Movies, and Books

Just ask and we can spend hours talking about our favorites. Days even :)

I could probably (definitely) quote a lot of movies to you as well.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have been away for 2 years now and have seen many breathtaking things. Most recently I stayed on a boat overnight in Maya bay. We swam and snorkeled with the phosphorous plankton that light up to the touch.

Its probably the most beautiful site I have ever seen.
